It’s a very lively area with lots of shops, restaurants, on Sunday you can enjoy the Rastro Market, which stands on the same street. Thousands of barrows and stalls offering every imaginable object, either new or second-hand. Other places which can be visited within 2 kilometers of home: The Puerta Del Sol (the Gateway of the Sun): 10 minutes walking. It marks the center of the city and the starting point to see the majority of its sites. The Puerta del Sol is surrounded by the old city (Casco antiguo), in which you will find several must-see spots such as the Plaza Mayor (Main Square): walking distance 5 minutes, the monastery known as "Monastery de las Descalzas
